Iyengar Alignment Yoga

This Iyengar class will focus on alignment and sequencing of asanas (yoga poses) and include the use of props to help to make this class available to everyone and receive yoga’s numerous benefits. The technique is inspired by the lineage of B.K.S. Iyengar. All are welcome.

Raja Yoga

Also sometimes known as Classical Yoga, this class will offer 30 minutes of gentle hatha, followed by breathing exercises (pranayama) which leads to yoga nidra (deep relaxation techniqes) and ends with meditation. This is a well-rounded practice for those looking to address both the physical and subtle body and needing help with sleep or relaxation.

Yoga Nidra

This is a relaxation technique and for the majority of the class you will be lying on your back. The focus is on relaxing the body and the mind for deeper relaxed concious states. Yoga Nidra is said to aid in sleep ailments, anxiety and general stress.

Here, we aim to engage in a slower paced class that providing restoration for the body. It can include lots of props to support you in your relaxation, pranayama (breathing techniques) and even Yoga Nidra (the yoga of sleep). We restore energy with deep conscious rest.

This class is very similar to a Restorative practice, however much more of a stretch. Yin yoga utilises the meridian system for deep stretching into the connective tissue, fascia, ligaments and tendons, rather than the muscles. These stretches are held for longer with a meditative approach to each hold in the postures.

This class is for those seeking to build more strength in their body with a yogic approach. Every class will always be grounded in developing more core strength but will vary week to week in the focus of the outer limbs for either arms or legs. All are welcome to this class!
